Communicator Award of Excellence: “Riding With Your Best Friend”

“Riding with Your Best Friend,” our film for Orbea Bikes, won a Communicator Award of Excellence. It is the same film that later took Gold at the Telly Awards, and seeing two juries land on the same piece told us the work held up.

Riding with Your Best Friend

The film won in the Film & Video, Commercials: Sports & Entertainment category. We made it for Orbea Bikes with the agency Rebel Ventures. The award comes from the Academy of Interactive & Visual Arts, whose jury is made up of working professionals from across the visual arts.

The Winners Gallery put our Orbea film up next to work from Cardi B and Kevin Hart, which was a strange thing to see in the best way.

It was also chosen for the AIVA Team Picks for 2024. Content Producer Josh Campbell wrote:

“When the goggles went on, my heart exploded. I think this may have convinced me to finally get a pet, and a new bike. The cinematography, coloring, and sound design only intensified the biker’s connection with nature and his companion.”

What the recognition means

We do not make films to win awards, but recognition like this helps. It tells us the craft is reading the way we intended, and it makes the next pitch a little easier.
